Family: Araceae Genus: Spathiphyllum
The Peace Lily is not in fact a true Lily it has long broad leaves and a Spadix (dense flower spikes) protected by a single spathe (large curved petal like structure that curves around the spadix)
Native to the tropical regions of the Americas and Southeast Asia, they thrive in the shade and require little water and light to flourish.
