I thought these might be laughing gyms! Very lucky find! Sometimes they get very tall. Very cool.

Wow, very cool! I think CorduneanuVlad is right, or else they definitely look like some species of Gymnopilus. However Gyms usually grow from solid wood, so I guess it's likely that there is a buried log or something.

I think that these are excellent specimens of Laughing Gyms (Gymnopilus junonius)
