Redbelly Snake

Description:

This nonvenomous shake, also known as the red-bellied snake, is Minnesota's smallest snake. It is gray with lengthwise stripes on top and a red belly below. It is about 8 inches.

Habitat:

Spotted near the Tamarac Discovery Center. It is found in woodlands and forest edges often near water.
