Gum-leaf Katydid

Torbia viridissima

Description:

This 50 mm long katydid had beautiful bluish-green fore wings with red inner margins and a venation resembling a gum-leaf. This legs had tinges of red resembling leaf stalks. Eyes were small and looked red in the night light.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights opposite a national park.

Notes:

This katydid looked a little different in colour to the one in my earlier spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/180... I am unsure if the colour difference is to do with gender - need to research further. Family: Tettigoniidae
