Wasp Moth

Description:

Orange and brown wasp mimic moth with mostly clear wings and metallic green scales on the head, thorax and abdomen, 1.5 cm long. Family Erebidae, Arctiinae (Arctiidae). This specimen is a bit scruffy, with loss of hair on the thorax.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
