Blotched Watersnake

Nerodia erythrogaster transversa

Description:

A water snake with blotches, as the name suggests. This one was in shed (you can see the milky eyes in the 1st and 2nd pics). The third pic shows its open mouth; when they first caught it, it was throwing bites all over the place and wanted to bite the camera. It wasn't in focus, but I kept it anyway. The last pic is me holding the water snake. It gave me my first wild snake bite!

Habitat:

Water

I don't know why I put my copyright on the last photo. I didn't take it, and it's not really of an animal, but I guess it's just habit!
