Common Wood Nymph

Description:

Medium sized brown butterfly with a yellowish patch on upper wings. Two eyespots on inside and outside of uppper wings. This shy butterfly didn't give us much opportunity for good photos.

Habitat:

Short Hills Provincial Park, Ontario. Meadow.
