Black Knot Disease

Apiosporina morbosa

Habitat:

Woodland habitat

Notes:

The area where I found this contains many trees infected with this disease. The Apiosporina morbosa spores infect the trees causing these unpleasant growths that surround and encapsulate the branch tips.
