Dark body with yellow/orange markings along side of abdomen. Dark basal markings on wings, dark marks on cross-veins along leading edge of hind wings between body and nodus.
Over a small slow-moving creek
Consistent flight pattern over a section of water perhaps 20-30 feet long, flying in a pattern over that area, did not see it alight.
