Papio ursinus
A troop of Chacma Baboons was as interested in me, as I was of them in the evening sun. The sihgt was spellbinding with all the human-like characteristics in the flock...
The flock with the individual at the pictures were spotted just outside Lower Sabie Camp. The biome there is a combination of open savanna and wooded savanna. Biome map of Kryger National Park: http://birding.krugerpark.co.za/best-bir...
The chacma baboon inhabits a wide array of habitats including woodland, savanna, steppes and subdesert. It is found in southern Africa, and can be found in South Africa, Angola, Zambia and Mozambique. Observations by those working hands-on in South Africa's rehabilitation centers have found this species is damaged by human intervention; troop structures are influenced, and over the years a significant loss in numbers has occurred. Because they live near human habitats, baboons are shot, poisoned, electrocuted, run over, and captured for the pet industry, research laboratories and medicine. Despite this, assessors working for the IUCN believe there are no major threats that could result in a range-wide decline of the species.

Thank you Staccyh! You are so kind :)
Lovely photo Tiz!
I like your link to the Kruger habitats map, I could have used that with my Kruger spottings. I just copied them from the paper copy I had.
