Platycercus elegans
This is an immature rosella still showing large green patches. They start off nearly completely green but the adult bird will be completely red (crimson) on the body and head with dark black-blue-turqoise on the wings and tail.
Dense eucalyptus rain forest.
Tourists must be ignoring the 'no feed' signs in the local national park - I think this little guy wanted to know if there are any seeds in my camera. "In southern and eastern Australia the red plumage can be completely replaced with a bright yellow or orange. The Yellow Rosella has the crimson areas replaced with light yellow and the tail more greenish. " - OzAnimals

Great spotting! It's amazing how they start off looking very different from the adults!
