BALD EAGLET

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Description:

These twin bald eaglets are now 10 weeks old. (In the first picture they appear to be napping - possibly tired after an afternoon of jumping jacks - exercising their wings getting ready for their first flight.) They will likely fledge in one to two weeks. I follow these eagles on a regular basis and post photos at: https://www.facebook.com/JerseyShorePhot...

Habitat:

This pair, along with their parents, are nesting along the Shark River (Jersey Shore, NJ)
