Golden Eagle

Aquila chrysaetos canadensis

Description:

Large, all-dark eagle with a pale golden nape. Majestic. Found along rivers, in grassland, tundra and other open country - away from people. Much more prevalent in the west. Rare in the East. This Golden Eagle was injured by a car and broke its wing. It is currently in rehabilitation at VINS.
