The dark bill and buff throat suggest rufous-tailed jacamar...
It's not a Merops...Bee eaters are an old world family...this is a jacamar...
It really seems a merops.
in my opinion it's some kind of Merops ... but i don't know which one.
About 20 cm.
Looks like a type of hummingbird, what size was it?
