Xylaria polymorpha
Found three different fungi growing from a stump, including these two. Only a few centimeters long, there were a lot more polymorpha that I didn't get shots of, they were scattered all around and on top of the stump.
Riverside Park, wet, lots of deciduous trees.
Thought they might be chunks of burnt wood at first but upon closer inspection they were clearly mushrooms.
