The Violet-backed Starling (Cinnyricinclus leucogaster), also known as the Plum-coloured Starling or Amethyst Starling, is a relatively small species of starling in the Sturnidae family. This strongly sexually dimorphic species is found widely in woodland of mainland sub-Saharan Africa.

Wow nice you are becoming a professional. In summer I will bring the caterpillars and sawfly larva to my lab to analyze them since they are that interesting :)

by the way I'm taking a course called Practical Entomology (and every microbiologist should take it :D) and I found out that each caterpillar proleg has a circle of hooks :) sawfly grubs don't have them. They look really amazing, if you have a chance to take a closer look (under some kind of a magnifier) at prolegs, do so! ;)
