Pipevine Swallowtail Caterpillars (2nd instar)

Description:

Females lay batches of eggs on underside of host plant leaves. Caterpillars feed in small groups when young but become solitary when older. Wintering is by the chrysalis.

Habitat:

On a Wooly Pipevine, Aristolochia tomentosa, leaf.

Thanks Luis, but not hard to find - I have Wooly Pipevine, a native plant here in Texas, on my potting bench arbor. The alien looking caterpillars are fun to watch and show visitors. :)
