Red Headed Agama (juvenile)

Agama agama

Habitat:

First reported in 1976, the African red headed agama has been established in South Florida for quite some time. Seem to like rocky sandy soil perhaps similar to arid native terrain.

Notes:

I've always seen them at Fairchild botanical garden (as stated in the reference website) and in certain localized areas on the east near the beaches. However, they seem to be spreading west and becoming more common. I've seen them in new areas lately such as my parent's house and the one pictured here at this park.
