Description:

Passerculus sandwichensis must be one of the more interesting scientific names out there. Gmelin must have named this bird right before his lunch break!

Habitat:

These birds were foraging in a field and retreated to shrubs when I approached them.

Lifer! I can't believe I haven't seen this one before.
