(Borboleta da lagarta-desfolhadora)

Opsiphanes sp.

Description:

Eating banana in my fingers.

Habitat:

I found this butterfly resting on the trunk of a Ficus tree.

Notes:

The wings are black with yellow spots only on the lower wings, and three small white dots in the upper extremities of the wings. I wanted to take pictures with open wings, to help identify, but I do not know how to force them to keep the wings open.

Great spotting, and such a beautiful butterfly. Its wings look like Mother of Pearl. Quite stunning.
