Ursus arctos horribilis
A grizzly bear feeding on the side of the Denali Park road. The bear is a blonde-brown and many of the bears in Denali are blonde. We were informed that the park bears are about 3.5 feet at shoulder height. It has a distinctive hump on the shoulder and the hair is shown to be grizzled; hence the name grizzly.
The bear is feeding and in an area interspersed with grass and schrubs.
This is a protected area. We were not allowed to open the bus windows so that bear does not sense food in the vehicle. The EOL is for the Denali Grizzly.
