Blue-tailed bee-eater

Merops philippinus

Description:

About 25 cm length. Very fast flier. They glides slowly, and when a bee is seen make a very fast dash to catch it with their beak. Then returns to the perch to soften and break the exoskeleton before gulping the prey down. Spectacular aerobatic fliers!!

Habitat:

Spotted near my apartment as a group of about 10 individuals.
