Description:

Underwood Fruit body a spoon-like club. Head 1-4cm high, 0.3-1.5cm wide; orange to yellow; compressed. Stem 10-40 x 1-3mm, cylindrical; orange to yellow, slightly lighter than the head. Spores sausage-shaped, smooth, 20-36 x 4-6µ. Habitat scattered or in clusters on sphagnum moss, decaying wood, and leaf debris. Common. Found widely distributed in North America. Season June-September. Not edible.
