Apodemia mormo langei
Slug-like larva with hairs.
Larvae graze the exterior skin of the Naked-stemmed Buckwheat ( Eriogunum nudum) stalks and eat the blossoms.
I've help survey the adults in the fall in the Antioch Dunes Wildlife Refuge. This was the first time seeing the larvae.
