Common Waxbill

Description:

The adults have bright red bill. The plumage is mostly grey-brown, finely barred with dark brown. There is a red stripe through the eye and the cheeks and throat are whitish. Juveniles are duller with little or no red on the belly, fainter dark barring and a black bill.

Habitat:

Atlantic coast

Notes:

I was quite shure that it was a Common waxbill when I noticed that I has a black bill and blue and white spots between the bill and the eye. In fack it is a juvenil

This is a common waxbill...young birds have black bills...
