Leaf Beetle

Description:

A small Leaf Beetle of 5 mm in length, with a yellow thorax and legs. The hind femora are enlarged for jumping and also have a black band on the distal ends. The elytra are white with black markings. Family Chrysomelidae.

Habitat:

On a wall under a light at night, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico 2,200 meters.

Notes:

These little jumping leaf beetles mimic the Diabrotica leaf beetles.
