Tortoise leaf beetle

Aspidimorpha indica

Description:

A colourful bug with translucent coat on top. At first I mistook it to be a water drop on some scrap of shiny chocolate wrapper. Only when it moved I realized that it is a bug. About the size a thumb nail (1.5 cm long)

Habitat:

Sahayadri mountains (Western Ghats), Maharashtra, India

Notes:

This is the first and only time I have seen what looks like a rare bug. ID appreciated.

@bayucca
I had already found the info about misspelling on wiki and made correction on the top. Thanks for confirming though :).

The ID is correct, but the name should be Aspidimorpha indica. There was a historic misspelling.
