Oak forest. Found only in the extreme western US states. "Mostly mountain and canyon terrain. Associated with Oaks (Quercus species, which are the larval food plants."

They sure are! They're usually seen landing high up in an Oak tree so whenever they're lower, I can't help but photograph them :)
