Eristalinus megacephalus
A fly with extremely large eyes, hence the name megacephalus. The eyes are yellow, covered in brown speckles, thickening towards the top of the eye. The pattern is variable. Longitudinal stripes on the thorax with a metallic gold sheen. A lateral striped pattern on the abdomen.
A highly proficient flyer, feeding on nectar.
Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 900m.
Even with its good vision, still quite approachable.
