Description:

This bird has a velvet-green back, rich chestnut body, and a dark cap often raised into a short crest.

Habitat:

I saw this bird next to Moonstone Beach.

Someone spotted one in the bay area here which though endangered are also common. But they listed it on ebird as a rare Little blue heron. They didn't notice the dark cap on the head which the Little blue heron doesn't have.
