Hi Kim, do you have any full body views of the Mantid? I think there is an excellent chance that this is a Carolina Mantis, Stagmomantis carolina. http://bugguide.net/node/view/4821
I removed this spotting from the Signs of Wildlife mission since it is an actual organism and not something it left behind.
