How cool! You have two different species of Mantis here. The "short fat" one is an adult, female Carolina Mantis (Stagmomantis carolina). http://bugguide.net/node/view/4821/bgpag...

The "long skinny" one looks like a Brunner's Mantis (Brunneria borealis).

Both are native species of Mantid!

You should split these in to separate spottings since they are different species.
