Hypomyces sp?

Description:

A thick white coating was covering most of the surface of this robust looking gilled mushroom. The mushroom was about 130mm tall and wide. If the white coating is Hypomyces (a parasitic Ascomycete) then this is the first time I have seen it on a gilled fungi. It is usually on boletes which raises the possibility that the mushroom is a gilled bolete.

Habitat:

A very large highway median strip, dry, eucalyptus dominated, grassy under story.

Notes:

Yet to check species of Hypomyces and gilled bolete combinations.... OR other parasitic white fungi types. http://nt.ars-grin.gov/taxadescriptions/...
