Jumping Spider with Prey

Description:

The predator shown here is a female Carrhotus sannio and the prey is an Unidentified Apidae.

Habitat:

This Jumping Spider, with its prey, was spotted in our vegetable plot in the backyard of the rice mill.

Thanks again, Arne. You are absolutely right on both. The predator is indeed a Carrhotus sannio female and the prey is a bee, not a fly. I used to get many of my identifications from a website called insectoid.info and my notes made at the time show that I called the spider C. sannio (female) back in 2016, but apparently the website was not complying with Google's requirements and it was taken down. So, I could no longer rely on my original ID (at least, that's my excuse), but I obviously did not pay enough attention to the prey. Anyway, I am very grateful that you have taken the trouble to help and I will edit this spotting to rectify both immediately. Thanks John B.
