Description:

This is the Giant Silkmoth male or Four Windowed Silkmoth It is strikingly large and impressive but was very tattered and battered. It was gentle and patient and let me take lots of pictures. Family Saturniidae. This moth is sort of the American counterpart of the Asian Atlas Moth.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
