House Sparrow

Description:

Male house sparrows have grey heads and may be brightly colored. They can be distinguished by their distinctive black bib and white cheeks Females are usually a plain brown color all around with underpants of a grey-brown color. Their backs are noticeably striped with buff, black, and brown.

Habitat:

House sparrows live around humans and can usually be found on city streets, parks, zoos, houses, etc. While they are not found in undisturbed forests, they can be found on farms (most places with civilization).

Notes:

These noisy sparrows flutter constantly from their high perches, flying to and fro from their hidden nests. They can be seen hanging around areas picking at crumbs, birdseed, or insects.
