Notes:

Fruit green in Spring, turning dark black berries 1/4" in clusters, poisonous reportedly. * A friend who grew up here told me each Spring they make Poke Salad: Take young top tender leaves; Boil, drain water, reboil in water & drain off that water, run water over again, then serve like lettuce. (I've Not tried that, anyone with first hand experience?)
