Starry Rosinweed

Silphium asteriscus

Description:

Order: Asterales > Family: Asteraceae. Native to the southeastern part of the United States, it loves full sun and seems to be at home in drier and wetter areas. These were seen along the side of the road heading toward Cedar Key, appropriate given the species generally grows along the Gulf coast in Florida.
