Treehopper Colony

Publilia concava

Habitat:

Canal/deciduous habitat

Notes:

At least 2 stages of nymphs as well as many adults were observed. Ants were walking on and around the group, but did not appear to harm them at all. This reminded me of a post about Mutualism from Radha found at http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/361... in which ants were actually protecting the hoppers. Very interesting to observe.
