very common middle size butterfly in mountain. shoulder to the wing-tip: 29-34mm. ジャノメチョウ亜科 Satyrinae. japanese name: ヒカゲチョウ. food plant: bamboo, Pleioblastus Simonii(メダケ), Pleioblastus chino(アズマネザサ), Sasa veitchii(クマザサ). similar butterfly: Lethe diana.
