Florida Predatory Stinkbug with Prey

Euthyrhynchus floridanus

Description:

A predatory nymph had caught a mating pair of Leafhoppers and was feeding on one of them. The amazing thing was that the Leafhoppers continued mating as though nothing was amiss, even when the bug began to drag them around on the leaf to escape my camera.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.

Fantastic, Lauren! Amazing to what lengths life will go to to ensure the survival of a species.
