Great shot , this is indeed a excellent wasp mimic .I took a photo of what appears to be the same species,or closely related in Chiang Dao and was given the ID as -Ceriana sp , a Hoverfly ,Syrphidae .I also thought it was a Conops-fly until I was given the heads up.
I agree with the Conopidae family fly. I would add probably genus Physocephala but you have to search whiche species are present in your region. Very nice series.
Hi Toshimi, this is an amazing series! This beautiful insect is actually a species of Fly that mimics wasps (very effectively).
This is very likely from Family Conopidae, we call them Thick-headed Flies here in North America. I am not at all familiar with the insects in your area so I don't think I can help you much more than that.
