Spotting

Description:

Slugs! Leaves a slimy trail behind as it squirms and "morphs" it's way to the bottom of a wet log.

Habitat:

We had a very wet July in Kansas and my firewood was almost water-logged. When I went to move it, there were multiple slugs hiding out on the bottom layer of wood. Cool weather for July: 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Notes:

The slugs were in a seemingly dormant state when we found them: No antennae, movement, etc. Once my boys started getting curious and poking them, they "woke up" and began to move and extrude their stalks.
