Wolf Spider

Tigrosa grandis

Description:

A big ol' female tigrosa grandis. They don't really have a common name. Apparently "tigrosa" is supposed to mean "tiger like"? So maybe call it a tiger wolf spider? These are probably the biggest wolf spiders I see around Kansas. The 'grandis' in its name is very apt. What is with this week and big ol' spiders?

Habitat:

Found in North America, and from what I can find on BugGuide, in the states of Colorado, Kansas, and Texas at the very least.
