Dragonfly

Habitat:

Mountain, spring-fed stream, Eastern, deciduous forest

Notes:

A suggestion has been made that this is an emergence, and I agree that this looks like a nymph exoskeleton and mature stage of a dragonfly. But, we watched the mature dragonfly fly over to and land on the other. Did we see some sort of "test" flight?

It didn't catch it, it came from it. That's the larvae of the species.
