@okiegirl I know these are C. serpentina because they hatched from a clutch I had the pleasure of watching the mother lay. Also, we are far too north of C. temminckii's range. I wish we had them though, I love those guys!

@Apple Good eye! We ended up releasing eleven hatchlings there as they collected in front of our door...

That looks more like an alligator snapping turtle hatchling.
