The American bullfrog, often simply known as the bullfrog in Canada and the United States, is an aquatic frog, a member of the family Ranidae, or “true frogs”.
This frog inhabits large, permanent water bodies, such as swamps, ponds, and lakes, where it is usually found along the water's edge.
Thanks a lot k.andrews6 en AshleyT for the ID and interesting explanation !!
Bullfrogs and Green frogs are very similar, the way you can tell the difference is by the dorsolateral fold. You can see the fold that wraps around the tympanum (ear), then ends. That means this is a Bullfrog. But Green frogs have the fold that wraps around the tympanum then also has a fold that extends back from the ear and down the back to the thigh. Just for future reference :)
