Northern Ring-necked Snake

Diadophis punctatus edwardsii

Description:

Adult snakes with grey bodies, black heads, and a yellow ring around the neck. Ventral is a bright yellow that fades to orange at the tail.

Habitat:

Found in between door frame at public restroom.

Notes:

Girlfriend had to use the bathroom so I walk her down cause it was dark out. So while she's inside I'm pacing cause I'm bored and I shine the flashlight at the bottom of the door and the snakes are coming out of the frame! (Took the 6th picture right after shining the light, and before capture.) As I was taking pictures more and more started coming out of the frame! There were 6 counted and I got about a 20 minute shoot with 2 of them in hand. Afterwards I relocated 3 of them to the forest's edge nearby, the other 3 were still in the door frame and I couldn't get to them. New Species for me!
