Nope, not a Blue Corporal although I understand why you chose BC. Look closely at the wings of a BC -- notice the dark markings near the abdomen? http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/265... The wings of your dragonfly don't look the same. Also, BCs are an early season species -- they're long gone by September! Would you like to make another choice, or would you like me to tell you what it is?
This dragonfly is easy to identify, Anthony. Make your best guess and I'll let you know whether you're right. Take a look at Giff Beaton's dragonfly-related Web pages. Good photos and usually just enough info to help you ID unknown Odonates. http://www.giffbeaton.com/dragonflies.ht...

Thank you for all your help! There's so many dragonflies out there its hard to identify them on the spot.
BINGO! Persistence pays. This individual is a male, as indicated by its coloration and terminal appendages.
Ok, Im going to say its either the slaty skimmer then.

It looks like a blue corporal from all the dragonflies on the webpage. Would that be right? Thank you!
