Description:

Cap: Reddish-brown, greasy/sticky shine, approx. 10 cm. across Pores: Yellow, irregular. Spore Print: Dark brown Stem: Yellow down to ring, white ring with red-brown edge, rest of stem dark brown. Stem slightly wider at the base, white. White/moldy looking spawn in moss at base. This one was larger than most...they were abundant, and most were approx. 5 cm across.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground in the woods not far from a pond, some in moss, some in fallen leaves under trees. Did not take note of what trees there were, other than that it was a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees.
